Terms and conditions

  1. All repair work typically carries a one month labour warranty.  Products and components carry varying warranties: further details of warranties offered should be requested at the time of ordering services or products.  Warranties relating to software work differ from all other work and further details on warranties offered should be requested prior to service. In the event of an issue following service, Neptune 1066 Ltd will consider each case individually.
  2. All repairs and software work are covered by our seven day return to base warranty. This means that if a fault is to reoccur within seven days we will re-investigate the fault, we reserve the right to charge.
  3. Neptune 1066 Ltd may use new, used or refurbished parts in order to complete repairs.  All replaced components become the property of Neptune 1066 Ltd and customers will not be compensated or credited in respect thereof.
  4. All warranties offered will be deemed void if there is any damage caused to the products in question as a result of any accident, misuse, abuse, liquid damage, fire, flood or other natural disaster.  All components and repair work is marked or sealed with warranty labels.  Tampering, removing or compromising the integrity of these labels in any way, for any reason, may void all warranties offered.
  5. You the customer understands and accepts that some applications or peripherals may no longer work correctly after a repair due to the installation of different hardware or software and that Neptune 1066 Ltd is not liable for any consequences from these changes.  It is your responsibility to reconfigure or reinstall any such products.  If you wish Neptune 1066 Ltd to perform this service for you the customer, the time spent will be charged at standard rates.
  6. Neptune 1066 Ltd will not be held liable for non-completion of services within the usual or quoted timescales, or for any delays during the service process.  The return of products after such periods have elapsed will not be a basis for cancellation of any contract or a basis for reduction or waiver of fees payable (to the extent permitted by applicable law).
  7. Neither Neptune 1066 Ltd nor its staff will be held liable for any loss of data or any subsequent losses as a result of data loss howsoever arising.  Neptune 1066 Ltd therefore strongly recommends that you the customer fully backup all data securely prior to any work commencing on your product, or it entering Neptune 1066 Ltd service facility.
  8. Neptune 1066 Ltd asks that any protective covers, casings or non factory installed protective measures be removed from products prior to service.  Failure to do so may require Neptune 1066 Ltd to remove such items in order to complete service and Neptune 1066 Ltd will not be held responsible for any damages or loss to such items.
  9. Neptune 1066 Ltd does offer a backup and recovery service, further details available upon request.  If used, this service is conducted without prejudice and any data lost or compromised will not be the responsibility of Neptune 1066 Ltd or its staff.
  10. You the customer are the legal owner or authorised representative of the legal owner of the property (including components contained therein) and all data sent to Neptune 1066 Ltd.
  11. Neptune 1066 Ltd reserves the right to decline to repair a product or provide services to a product if the manufacturers’ serial numbers have been compromised; the product has been altered from its factory state physically, mechanically or electronically; if the product has been improperly used or if the product is suspected to be stolen.  The customer may be held responsible in these circumstances for the cost of any transportation costs, service costs, and/or administration costs regardless of whether the product has been serviced.
  12. Neptune 1066 Ltd will not sell or pass on customers’ details to any third parties and will retain customers’ details solely for its own use.
  13. Neptune 1066 Ltd agrees not to disclose any information or data files supplied with, stored on, or recovered from customers’ products, except within Neptune 1066 Ltd or to agents of Neptune 1066 Ltd subject to confidentiality agreements or as required by law.
  14. By instructing Neptune 1066 Ltd to undertake and complete work within seven days, you the customer, understand that you have a legal right to a seven day remorse period from the date of undertaking a contract with Neptune 1066 Ltd.  However, should you wish to waive this right in order to have the work completed in under seven days, you will be required to pay for services on completion, unless agreed otherwise prior to the commencement of a contract.
  15. Neptune 1066 Ltd accepts payment by cash, most debit/credit cards and direct bank transfer.  Cheques are accepted, however funds must be cleared beforehand.  Payment is required to be made upon completion unless agreed otherwise prior to a contact being made.  Neptune 1066 Ltd will not co-ordinate service or payment from customers’ insurance providers or other warranty providers.  The customer is personally responsible to settle any liabilities following service and will have to pursue reimbursement from any other parties without the assistance of Neptune 1066 Ltd or its staff.
  16. Goods that are purchased by Neptune 1066 Ltd on behalf of a customer remain the sole property of Neptune 1066 Ltd until payment to settle has been made.
  17. Neptune 1066 Ltd retains the right to refuse to install software if it is suspected not to be a genuine product, is in breach of copyright, or not correctly licensed.  Neptune 1066 Ltd is unable to install any licensed software without being given a valid licence key.  You the customer hereby authorise Neptune 1066 Ltd to copy your data for the purpose of completing their work and we will delete it from backup storage no later than fourteen days from the cessation of this contract.
  18. Neptune 1066 Ltd reserves the right to refuse to return products without production of the work receipt (or other adequate proof of ownership or identification) or for work that has been completed but for which payment has not been received.
  19. Products that have not been collected within fourteen days after notification of completion of work will incur a storage fee of £5 per day, unless agreed otherwise.  Neptune 1066 Ltd shall attempt to contact the customer by telephone but if there is no response within 48 hours of making that call Neptune 1066 Ltd will write to the customers address provided on the repair receipt, if available. Uncollected goods will be dealt with in accordance with the Torts (interference with goods) Act 1977 - and may result in the goods being disposed of three months from when the initial monies owed were due – full details of these requirements can be obtained from www.opsi.gov.uk or from your local Trading Standards Department.
  20. Telephone calls may be recorded or monitored for training and quality assurance purposes.
  21. The terms of this contract will be interpreted in accordance with English law.
